Flying can be a solitary pastime; you arrive, fly and leave. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
A busy calendar of events is planned for the coming months and we welcome all members.
Fly Outs
Fly outs offer students and recently qualified pilots the opportunity to buddy up with more experienced pilots, make new friends and share the costs. It is also a perfect way to push your boundaries and explore airfields further afield while sharing the learning curve with other new members.
Please note that fly outs are rather difficult for the club to organise as we rely on weather and aircraft availability. At the moment we ask you to register for flyouts on the club notice board at the airfield but we hope to move this over to the website now that more members have signed up. We can then try to group people up with the various aricraft. Cost sharing is decided between each aircraft. If you go as a passenger then usually paying the landing fee or getting the lunch for the pilot/pilots is enough payment.
Check out the events forum for details on upcoming flyouts. If there are non planned then feel free to start a thread and get one organised!
Club Nights
Our monthly social nights are aimed not only at providing informative speakers, but also to enable members to get to know each other better and encourage more shared flying.
Events can be anything from a presentation from an engineer, flying instructor or commercial pilot through to bowling nights movie nights in the Tipsy Nipper and even just a chat and a pint!
Again check out the Club Events Forum for details on upcoming Club Nights.
External Events
We will also promote external aviation themed events which will be beneficial to the members. It could be local airfield open days or CAA Safety Evenings for example.
